The Birth of Moses


Reference: Exodus 1 - 2:10

Big Idea: Don’t worry. God will take care of you.

Verse: Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7

Questions to Ask Throughout the Week:

Why was the king of Egypt worried? // The Israelites were growing and they might attack him.
What was the king’s first plan? // He made the Israelites into slaves.
What was the king’s evil plan? // To throw all the Israelite boys into the water.
When the woman couldn’t hide the baby, what did she do? // Float him in a basket in the river.
Who hid and watched the baby float in the river? // His sister
Who found the baby? // The king’s daughter.
Who did the sister find to take care of the baby for the king’s daughter? // The baby’s mother.
When he grew up, where did the baby live? // With the king’s daughter.
What did the king’s daughter name the baby? // Moses.
What is today’s big idea? // Don’t worry. God will take care of you.
What can we do when we’re worried? // Pray to God.
What is today’s Bible verse? // Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7 (ESV)

Joseph Forgives His Brothers


REFERENCE: Gen. 41:41-45:15

BIG IDEA: Forgive others like God forgives you.

What was Joseph's job? // To collect the extra food for Egypt.
Why did Jacob send his sons to Egypt? // They had run out of food.
Who did the brothers see when they went to buy food? // Joseph
Did the brothers know it was Joseph? // No.
Why did Joseph call his brothers spies? // To see if they had changed.
Who did Joseph send his brother to go get? // Their brother, Benjamin.
Did Joseph decide to get revenge on his brothers? // No, he forgave them.
Why did we have to be forgiven by God? // We disobeyed his commands.
What is today's big idea? // Forgive others like God forgives you.

- Why was Joseph able to tell Pharaoh what his dream meant? // Because God helped him.
- What did Pharaoh’s dreams mean? // There would be seven good years then seven bad years
